Or deciding a subject is too serious to be included in a gaming manual, for that matter.

I get that in academia there are topics which are so integral to the subject that a teacher might have to say, "I know this subject can be disturbing, but we can't talk about this field without covering it," though it also seems to me that an instructor can still handle that without being an asshole about it. But we're not talking about having to cover genocide in a History course or sexual assault in a legal course; we're talking about popular entertainment.

I'd love to run the pregen scenario that starts with a child abduction. I'm gonna tell my friends that's how it begins. They say it's too much because they have kids, well, that's alright. On the one hand I enjoy them for their incredible optimism and self reliance on the other I am horrified at the mindset revealed in them. If nothing else they have stopped me from being wistful for the "good old days" with all the ugly problems of today reading these lighthearted children's stories makes me appreciate that yes we are a better country today than in 1920.Warrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11354178086764394097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1875809174948068444.post-59544298597212210252014-12-05T06:13:13.675-05:002014-12-05T06:13:13.675-05:00Boston, Providence, Rhode Islnd ll deserve thi tre...Boston, Providence, Rhode Islnd ll deserve thi treatment - a whole book on new England. Billions of people live and die and then some jerk goes back a billion years with a nova device and *poof*, those lives, their struggles and joys, it all just doesn't count? If that's the way it works then no one's life ever counts, and that's too painful for me.
